THE JACOBS COMPANY PRIVACY NOTICE
Recently enacted federal and state regulations establishing new privacy standards require that we advise you of our privacy standards, which already exceed these regulations.
The Jacobs Company takes your privacy very seriously. We know that our Policyholders trust us with their insurance needs, and that it is very important we maintain a high degree of integrity in the handling of their personal information. For this reason, access by our employees to information is limited to that needed in their offering, administering, servicing, processing and maintaining of our products and services to you, In addition, all employees sign and are bound by a Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Policy. We do not disclose information to companies or organizations not affiliated with us for the purpose of selling their products or services to you.
We want you to understand how we use the information we collect from you. We may collect non-public personally identifiable information as follows:
- Information we obtain from you during the quoting or application process.
- Information about transactions and experiences with others, and us such as loss or payment history, when we obtain quotes, or you have a claim or change in coverage or vehicle,
- Information obtained from consumer reporting agencies, which provide us motor vehicle reports, claim reports aid or credit scores.
INFORMATION WE DISCLOSE
Information about our customers or former customers will only be disclosed as permitted or required by law, Information, which has been collected, is maintained in your policy and/or claims records in our office, We use this information to process and service your policy (ies), and settle claims with your consent or as directed by you, We may also disclose information to persons or organizations as necessary to perform transactions you request or authorize, such as:
We must exchange information with attorneys, investigators, appraisers, underwriters, our agents, and other persons who are, or will become, involved in processing your applications, servicing your policy and/or adjusting any claims you make, When you are involved in a claim, policy information may be provided to adjusters and the appropriate business that will repair or replace your lost or damaged property.
We may share information with persons or organizations that we determine require the information to perform a business, professional or insurance function for us, such as insurance or financial institutions with which we have a joint marketing agreement. These companies are contractually obligated to keep the information that we provide to them confidential and to use the information only for the purpose for which the information was provided.
Any medical or health information obtained will be disclosed only to underwrite insurance or administer your policy or claim as authorized by you.
We may also share your information for other permitted purposes including: with another insurance company if you are in an accident with their insured; our reinsurers; insurance support organizations that detect and prevent fraud; state insurance departments; governmental or law enforcement authorities if required by law or to protect a legal interest, or in cases of suspected fraud or illegal activities; or if ordered by subpoena, search warrant or other court order.
